Fourth Beer of Christmas 2018: Tröegs Mad Elf
On the Fourth Day of Christmas, my brewer gave to me... Tröegs' Mad Elf!
Tröegs' Mad Elf
Just like your favorite uncle during the holidays, Mad Elf is big, bold, and boozy. This cheerful ruby red creation is reminiscent of ripened cherries, raw honey and cocoa with notes of cinnamon, clove and allspice.
Expertly fermented and aged, this ruby red beer has significant warming strength that underlies the character of this Ale.
The Beer
Tröegs' Mad Elf is a Belgian Strong Dark Ale, combining Hallertau and Saaz hops for a refreshing, but dry, finish. The taste of sweet Pilsner and malt Chocolate evenly balance the hop flavor. With hints of cherries, honey, and peppercorn that offer a crisp mouthfeel, this brew is a nice winter warmer that is dangerously drinkable.
The ABV is 11.0%.
Holidays in Historic Odessa
Step back in time at the Historic Odessa's annual holiday celebration - a seasonal tradition of interpreting scenes from classic literature. This season our celebration lasts from November 14 through December 31, 2018.
This year's theme is based upon the classic novel, A Christmas Carol, In Prose, Being a Ghost Story of Christmas, by Charles Dickens. This special exhibit celebrates the 175th anniversary of the story first published in 1843. Be delighted with vignettes that include depictions of famous scenes from the novel in the Corbit Sharp House, c. 1774.
