2020 Odessa Brewfest CanceledThe Historic Odessa Foundation in partnership with Cantwell’s Tavern announced yesterday that due to the coronavirus pandemic and latest surge in COVID-19 cases, regionally and across the country, the foundation’s signature fundraising event – the seventh annual Historic Odessa Brewfest that was scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020, has been canceled. The Odessa Brewfest will return next year on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021. “Although the Odessa Brewfest is a crucial source of funding for our foundation, the health and safety of our attendees, staff and community is paramount,” said Debbie Buckson, executive director of the Historic Odessa Foundation, which owns and operates the museum properties, the Historic Houses of Odessa. “Given the recent spike in coronavirus cases, the uncertainty as to where we will be in September as the pandemic evolves over the summer, and what state and federal guidelines will be in place then, we unanimously decided to cancel this year’s event, but will be back next year bigger and better than ever.” The Historic Odessa Brewfest annually draws more than 2000 craft beer lovers from across the region onto the bucolic grounds of the foundation’s 251-year-old Wilson-Warner House. The day includes the best of local, regional and national craft brews, live music on two stages, and locally-sourced food provided by Cantwell’s Tavern and the Roaming Raven Food Truck. In addition, artisan vendors are on site, and attendees have access to a variety of lawn games and amusements.
