2015: Allagash vs Sixpoint
With Allagash and Sixpoint we move into the New England/New York region of our Odessa Brewfest brewbracket contest. Allagash brews a variety of Belgian-style beers in Portland, Maine, including dubbel, trippel, black and something called curleux (we're intrigued). Allagash founder Rob Tod was one of the first on the craft-brewing scene to recognize that Belgian style brews were underrepresented, setting off a revolution that has changed the face of craft brewing in the US.
Sixpoint comes to you from Brooklyn, traditionally a center of brewing on the East Coast. Sixpoint is beloved for its Bengali IPA, it's Sweet Action ale, and an amber-hued saison hybrid, among many others. The Sixpoint team call themselves mad scientists, and that spirit shows in brews like the Tesla (a hoppy lager), the salty-sour Jammer and the robust Hi-Res.
With the Odessa Brewfest less than two months away (Sept. 12) , show your spirit by casting your vote for one of these excellent breweries!
