Carriage House Woodworks
I still have the bowl I made for my mother in junior high shop class. My love for woodworking has lasted for decades and blossomed after retirement. I love making furniture and gifts for our kids and grandkids “and great grandkids.”
It still amazes me when I bring a “raw” board from the sawmill into my shop and realize that it will leave as an heirloom someone will keep in their home.
I love the feel of the wood, from the porous grain of walnut to the gentle undulations in oak to the smoothness of a fine rubbed cherry. For my furniture I use seven hand-rubbed coats of finish so my pieces want to be touched.
If there is something I can make especially for you, let me know and we can work on a design.
