New Hampshire's favorite brewery faces off against New Jersey's biggest brewery in this match-up. Smuttynose and Flying Fish are both fan favorites, but only one can win this round of the Odessa Brewbracket.

Named for Smuttynose Island off the craggy New Hampshire coast, Smuttynose Brewery makes 32 well-varied beers in their lineup, from IPAs to a canned Short Weisse series. Many of their beers are rooted in history: like their signature Pinniped Special (their version of the 1841 Vienna lager originally brewed by Anton Dreher), the Old Brown Dog (the 1989 silver medal winner of the American Brown Ale category at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver), and many more! Nonetheless, Smuttynose's competition Flying Fish is no joke. Flying Fish is now one of the largest of the 70+ craft breweries in New Jersey, producing six sustainable, year-round beers, such as their baltic porter and pale ale. Flying Fish's beer selection offers a nuanced experience for one's tastebuds, bringing forth aromatic spices and big flavor.
