Wine Lover? The Odessa Brewfest Has You Covered
The Odessa Brewfest is about much more than beer. There’s the delicious food, the artisan crafts, the live music, the historical demonstrations—and, for all you oenophiles out there—fine local wines.
Delaware wines attract notice
Did you know Delaware is a wine producing state? Two of the state’s best-known wineries will be on hand at the brewfest. Harvest Ridge, out of Marydel, and Fenwick Wine Cellars, from Selbyville, will both be offering their delicious vintages on the grounds of the 1769 Warner-Wilson House—the bucolic setting for the Odessa Brewfest.
Fenwick Wine Cellars
Fenwick Wine Cellars offers white, blush and red, was well as specialty wines. The winery maintains a small vineyard where concord, niagra and chambourcin grapes are grown, offering over 20 different varieties of wines in all. Fenwick will have at least four varieties on hand at the brewfest.
Harvest Ridge Winery
Harvest Ridge is a family farm winery straddling the border of two states (you can probably guess which) in Marydel, Delaware. Started in 2011 by vintner Chuck Nunan and his wife Chris, Harvest ridge grows chardonnay, viognier, malbec, and merlot grapes.
Harvest Ridge and beer have been good friends for a while, as the winery is an integral part of Kent County Tourism’s Good Libations Tour. Good Libations takes lovers of the grain and the grape to Mispillion River Brewery, Fordham & Dominion and Painted Stave Distilling—all brewfest vendors!—as well as Harvest Ridge.
Look forward to trying these excellent Delaware wines at the Odessa Brewfest on September 12. Get tickets »
