2017: Weyerbacher vs Lancaster
Two native Pennsylvanian breweries face off in this match-up, with heavy competition. Weyerbacher and Lancaster are both fan favorites, but only one can win this round of the Odessa Brewbracket.
Born in a livery stable in 1995, Weyerbacher has its roots in Germany from ancestors 200 years ago. Its historical roots poses heated competition for Lancaster Brewing, with Weyerbacher's attention to big flavor and excellent taste. Big beers are what Weyerbacher makes best, with favorites like the Merry Monks Tripel and Blithering Idiot Ale. However, Lancaster Brewing has its ties to German beer as well, with a commitment to Reinheitsgebot, the historic German law mandating only malt, hops, yeast, and water be used for preparing beer. Quality brewing is what defines Lancaster, with a year round selection like the Hop Hog IPA and Milk Stout. Both breweries represent dedication to quality and a unique spin on German history, but as for which brewery should win...it's up to your vote!
